Aggregate site measurement
We count page views and direct affiliate link uses to understand which content and links are useful and improve this site. This first-party aggregate counter runs independently of optional Google Analytics consent. It does not count unique people, bookings or revenue, build profiles or combine browsing between sites. It uses no visitor cookies, persistent device storage or fingerprinting and stores no IP address, browser identifier, referrer or URL query. Daily totals by page, language and link are retained for up to 180 days; unrelated random event receipts are deleted within 24 hours. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable collection. Cloudflare provides hosting and the EU database and still processes network data, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the service. 1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. This site keeps them to a minimum: optional Google Analytics cookies remain disabled until you accept them in the cookie banner.
2. What we store
Consent choice — your accept/decline decision is saved in your browser’s localStorage (not a cookie) for 180 days, so we do not ask again on every visit. This is strictly necessary and holds no personal data.
Analytics cookies (only if you accept) — Google Analytics 4 sets the “_ga” cookie (expires after 2 years) and a “_ga_*” cookie (2 years) to distinguish anonymous visitors and sessions. IP addresses are anonymised. If you decline, these cookies are never set; if you withdraw consent later, we delete them.
3. Third-party cookies
Some pages embed booking widgets from our partners (GetYourGuide availability widgets, the Stay22 script on hotel links). When a widget loads or when you follow a partner link, that partner may set its own cookies under its own policy — see the links below.
4. How to manage cookies
You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie preferences” in the footer. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings — the site keeps working either way.
