Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel
The main port of Santa Cruz and the busiest base in the islands: most land-based itineraries start from this town, with agencies, pier and daily services within walking distance.

Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel
The highest nightly rate of the whole Puerto Ayora census belongs to this property, and it is worth being blunt about what that buys: not a better archipelago — the National Park assigns the same visitor sites to everyone, and the sea decides for everyone alike — but the top of the local hotel market on the busiest base of the islands. It is the land-based counter-argument to a luxury cruise, for travellers making exactly that comparison. Rooms, facilities and current terms are on the property’s own Booking.com page.
Best for: Travellers who want the widest choice of tours, rooms and services within walking distance.

Good to know
- Flights for Santa Cruz land at Baltra (GPS); the other island airport is Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (SCY) on San Cristóbal. Both are served from Quito (UIO) and Guayaquil (GYE) on the mainland.
- On arrival each foreign adult pays $200 for the Galápagos National Park entry tribute plus $20 for the Transit Control Card: $220 in cash, collected at the airport and never included in tour prices (nor are the flights from the mainland).
- Itineraries, visitor sites and wildlife sightings are never guaranteed: the National Park assigns the sites and the sea decides whether a crossing sails.
