Other categories have different rates or exemptions. Obtain and validate the TCT before the mainland flight; the digital procedure provides a QR code for validation at Quito or Guayaquil. Park entry is normally collected on arrival, although an operator may pay it in advance. Stretching to eight days: the land-based advantage

Here is where sleeping on land quietly beats any fixed package: you can simply stay longer. Finish a verified tour, keep your hotel or move to another, and give yourself the slow days no itinerary sells — a morning repeated because you loved it, an afternoon lost to a harbour. On seasons: the Charles Darwin Foundation splits the year into a warm season (January to May) and a cool one (June to December), when the garúa mist sits on the highlands and the sea runs cooler and livelier. A longer trip is the best insurance either way — you can wait out a grey morning. What no length of stay buys is certainty about wildlife: sightings are never guaranteed, at six days or sixteen.
